About:
In the mid eighties, Helen’s had a simple idea: grow a garden full of gladiolas and sell them. Customers loved the flowers, and requested all manners of plants, herbs, and vegetables. In 2008, Jason, his wife Connie, along with the help of their four daughters took over Helen’s Veggies. Today, you’ll find root vegetables and Connie’s greenhouse produces bedding plants, hanging baskets, salad and herb planters, succulents, tomato, and vegetable seedlings. Using traditional fallow farming techniques of rotating crops, ensures the soil is able to recover nutrients necessary to offer the fertile environment needed for plants to thrive. The result is fresh, fully ripened produce that possesses rich flavour and the highest nutritional value.
The other obvious advantage is the absence of chemical feeding, no chemical preservatives or growth inhibitors that are commonly used in large commercial farms. Helen, the matriarch of this farming family, has set a standard that assures customers that the trip to Bountiful will result in the very best quality vegetables for their families.
